Good gravy I've neglected this thing haven't I? Shame on me. I suppose if anyone wanted to read what I do at any given moment they could just head over to twitter.com/stevenguerrero and connect with me there. I say such insightful things as "That drips fake blood right? 'cause you can't have a giant dragon and a beaded bird cage without fake blood" and "Has someone mentioned the spectacular film Orca? If not someone ought to. Inappropriate...but fitting" and the ever eloquent "Pancake time!!"

In other news (of the gig type):

I am pleased to report that I am now hosting a bi monthly event at a local coffee shop called The Ground Level titled "The Amplified Resonance Showcase"

The idea behind the events are to recreate the house concert atmosphere while supporting a local coffee shop that sells locally roasted fair trade coffee. It's also a musician friendly place, and hey they also allows a solo bassist to invite great musicians to take over the place every two months. I love house concerts, It's a win for everyone, including the musicians, but until my family and I get out of the new baby stage...no more house concert hosting for now.


I have a lot of great musicians lined up for the next few months, and I am VERY excited to have them perform.

First up I am very pleased to report that on March 13th Harp Guitarist Eric Loy will be performing with me at The Ground Level. He's got so many strings...it must be a nightmare to tune. Check this out..it's pretty spectacular:




On May 8th Chapman Stick player Glenn Poorman will be heading in from Detroit to perform. I've had the pleasure to do a couple of shows with Glenn in the past and I must say, I am a big fan of his work. Fellow looper and a good chap to boot. Check him out doing his thing here:




I have more spectacular musicians scheduled for June and July, I know...not technically bi monthly, but schedules demand it..trust me...it's going to be awesome. I'll let you know who they are in the coming weeks....until then, please do stop by the shows if you're in the area, great music and you'll also be supporting local business and great musicians...A win for everyone!!!

Bandcamp people to listen to...

So yeah, I've been blathering on about Bandcamp for a while now. I've even pointed you in the direction of a nice directory of Bandcamp musicians. But that assumed you had all the time in the world to read my post, go read Steve's post and listen to the rather large amount of peeps there. Let's see if we can make it a tad easier.

Some special highlights from the list and few that may not be on there:

First up is Gustaf Fjelstrom's Metamesmeric, which is described as Ambient Looping Bass Cello Excursions. It's all sorts of ambient loopy goodness...Listen and meditate...or something.




Next is Trip Wamsley. Solo Bassist, Extended Range Bassist...goofball. Aparently was once a zygote...but he got better. Listen now. He's good...like real good.



Here we have Atmos Trio, Rob Michael: guitars, Joe Shotwell: drums, Drew Waters: bass
Rob has been doing loads of Ustream performances, so if the tracks aren't enough you can check him out HERE. It's all excellent music.
